Frequently Asked Questions
Buying Artwork
Are People Buying Art Online?
Yes! Ever since COVID-19, more people are buying art online than ever before. The global art market is shifting from a traditional art dealer and art gallery format in favor of online sales and independent artists.
Is Buying Art Expensive?
It can, but doesn’t have to be. With such a wide variety of artists, prices can range drastically. However, original artwork costs far more than cheaper alternatives like art prints. Art prints offer an affordable way to collect art without breaking the bank.
Is It a Good Idea to Buy Art?
Of course! Depending on the art you buy, it can be both emotionally and monetarily rewarding. Art is an asset and can go up in value if you are collecting art as a part of an investment portfolio. Not to mention the numerous emotional benefits of finding and appreciating a piece of art you truly connect with.
Where do I Start Buying Art?
The best way to start buying art is by supporting independent artists. If there is a piece that truly speaks to you, many artists offer them on their websites. You can even start small by purchasing art prints before moving to original artwork. You can learn about how to start an art collection here. Learn more about how to start an art collection here.
Art Prints
What Are Art Prints?
Art prints are reproductions of original artwork. Put more simply, they are original artwork that has been printed out. These can be sold multiple times and in different sizes other than the original piece. These can be sold in either unlimited issues or a limited edition art print, which only has a set number that can be produced.
Are Art Prints Worth Buying?
Art prints are a great addition to both serious art collectors and casual admirers of art. Not all art prints hold their value as an investment, but if you like a piece, you can use it as wall art in any location you want. Since art prints are more affordable than originals, they can be purchased by more casual admirers. Learn more about buying art prints here.
What Are Common Art Print Sizes?
Technically speaking, art prints can be printed in any size. However, artists such as myself typically stick to standard frame sizes to make framing easier on the buyer. Typically, they have the same aspect ratio as the original piece, and that stays the same at all size options.
Gift Purchases
Can I Purchase Your Artwork As a Gift?
Yes! Anyone is welcome to purchase my art as a gift. I love watching people find something in my art that they think others would like. If you want me to send it directly to someone as a gift, just make sure you put their address in the shipping address location!
Do You Offer Gift Wrapping or Personalized Messages?
Yes! While my packaging is pretty standard, if someone wants me to add a personalized message or wrap it in a certain way, I am happy to work with them within my means to find something that they want. All you need to do is contact me with your order number and explain what you’d like me to do.
Loyalty Programs or Discounts
Do You Offer Any Discounts For Returning Customers?
Yes! My customers will receive an email sometime after they receive their purchase with an email asking for a review. Once you leave a review, I will send them a 20% off code that can be used at their next checkout.
Is There a Loyalty Program I Can Join?
Unfortunately, I do not offer a loyalty program at this time, but I may offer one at a later date, depending on how my business goes. You can also sign up for my newsletter (at the bottom of every page) to keep up to date on the latest news!

Do You Offer Payment Plans or Financing Options?
Yes! Both Klarna and Afterpay are financing options that allow users to pay in multiple smaller installments to help finance orders.
Shipping and Delivery
How is the Artwork Packaged For Shipping?
My original artwork is packaged securely with glassine paper over the face to avoid smudging or damage to the piece. Then, supports are added to the sides to protect the drawing/painting, and if necessary, items such as bubble wrap, styrofoam, and cardboard are used to further protect the piece. Typically, I tend to err on the side of caution and use a lot of packaging material to ensure the piece arrives safely.
Similarly, my art prints are packaged with glassine paper, added supports, placed in a bag, and placed in a packaging envelope with extra support to further protect the print and ensure it arrives safely.
Do You Ship Internationally?
Currently, I do not ship internationally. I am a United States-based artist, and it is not currently feasible to ship out of the country. However, if someone feels moved by a piece or wants to order a commission, I am happy to take on projects on a case-by-case basis, however, I will need to calculate shipping costs for the project. Just contact me, and we can work something out.
What are the shipping costs and delivery times?
Typically, for art prints, for a small print, shipping averages out to be $6.99, while the price goes up slightly for larger prints to $12.99 since they must be sent in a much larger shipping tube. Original drawings and paintings cost more to ship and vary by size.
Typically, an order ships between 1 to 2 weeks from the time an order is placed unless there is an issue, such as my print shop or an illness.
How Can I Track My Order?
Once an order has been placed and I have packed the purchase, I will fulfill the order on my end, and you should receive an email with a tracking number in your email. This tracking number can be used to show where your shipment currently is and estimate arrival times.
Returns and Exchanges
What Is Your Return And Exchange Policy?
All sales are final. Once a piece has been purchased, it is no longer returnable. However, if there is an issue, you can contact me, and we can work together to figure something out.
What Should I Do If My Artwork Arrives Damaged?
If your artwork arrives damaged, contact me immediately. I can replace it if it is a print, or I can refund it if it is an original piece. I will need to know so I can receive the insurance from the shipping company to cover the damage.
Commissions and Custom Artwork
Do You Accept Commissions For Custom Artwork?
Yes, I do! Of course, it depends on the piece you want to have made, but I do accept commissions for those who have ideas for artwork they want to have made.
What Is The Process For Commissioning a Piece?
To begin the process, you can contact me and explain what you are looking for to the extent you know. If you don’t have a concrete idea, that is okay! I can work with you until we both come up with an idea we feel passionate about. I will ask you for a budget and recommend a size that will work within it (I charge based on a set rate for different sizes).
From there, I will require at least half of the payment for the commissioned piece before I can begin the piece (I will use these funds to gather the material I need). You are welcome to pay the piece completely up front as well if you would like, but it is not required.
Once the piece is in progress, I will send you periodic updates and ensure the project is moving in a direction that you are happy with. When complete, it will take some time to dry, and then it will be shipped to an address where you can receive the artwork.
How Long Does a Commissioned Piece Take To Complete?
It depends. I have completed some commissions in a matter of days, and some take months to finish. The time it takes to finish a commission varies from piece to piece and will depend on the scope of the project. Each drawing and painting is unique, and so too is the time it will take to complete it. If you are in a hurry, it is best to be upfront about it.
Can You Make Prints of Commissioned Pieces?
Yes! I reserve the right to make prints of commissioned pieces. However, if you are not comfortable with this, please tell me so I know. In many cases, commissions are very personalized, and it does not make sense to offer prints.
Artwork Details
What Mediums Do You Use In Your Artwork?
I work in mediums like pencil and charcoal when I draw, and I work primarily in oils for painting. However, I was trained in acrylic and do use it occasionally.
Are The Colors In The Online Images Accurate Representations of The Artwork?
For the most part, yes. It is nearly impossible to adjust them perfectly to reflect what they are in person, but I do my best to touch them up and adjust them to be accurate representations.
Pricing and Selling Art
How Do You Determine The Price of Your Art?
I determine the price of my original art based on a flat rate based on the size. I charge based on square inches. If a piece is larger, it will be proportionately more expensive based on the area. Currently, my rate is set to $2 per square inch for studies on drawings and paintings.
Do You Offer Guidance For New Collectors Interested in Art?
Yes, I do! I have a blog page where I post guides on buying art as well as stories behind my pieces. I am doing my best to make content that will help buyers know what to do and the steps it takes. If you have questions that are not addressed there, you are always free to contact me!
